Amazing Quilts
Our quilt artists each bring a unique perspective to quilting. The belief that quilts are merely patchwork blankets, made by women at rural quilting bees, is outdated. Quilt making has evolved into an evocative art form. Quilts record political and cultural history, as well as personal and family anecdotes. They can be the most liberating form of expression for artists, even those who have traditionally worked outside the medium. They incorporate art theory and design principle and are worthy of the laborious processes involved in their creation. Most importantly, they are emotional landscapes, gratifying their creators, as well as those with whom they are shared.
